Spoilers in Post: Yes
Release Type: Theatrical
Plot (from IMDB): When the newly-crowned Queen Elsa accidentally uses her power to turn things into ice to curse her home in infinite winter, her sister Anna teams up with a mountain man, his playful reindeer, and a snowman to change the weather condition.
Scoring Notes: generally a +5 is the highest I will give a component. A -5 is the lowest. If it goes beyond that, then you know I am quite serious
+10 for Idina Menzel
+5 for Kristen Bell
+3 for Josh Gad
+1 for Jonathan Groff
Production (Writing/Directing/Soundtrack, etc):
+5 for Writing and the over all story
+5 for the Directing
+15 for the Soundtrack (it is a musical, after all)
-2 for the misdirection of Prince Hans. After re-watching it, I was quite frustrated at how there was no clue. Even when he’s fallen into the lake and there are no other people around, he’s been drawn as a love-sick fool rather than someone with evil intentions. I know a lot of people indicated that the gloves should have been a clue, but yet almost all of the men were wearing gloves since it was a formal event.
+5 for family friendliness
+3 for diversity (in this instance that it teaches that siblings can have true love and the focus is on this sisters reconciling rather than a romance)
+5 for the quote “Knock. Just knock. Why isn’t she knocking? Do you think she knows how to knock?”
+5 for the quote: Some people are worth melting for.
+5 for the quote:
“I’m gonna tell him”
“Don’t you dare!”
+5 for the quote: “The sky is awake so I’m awake so we have to play!”
+5 because I’d rewatch
Overall Score: 74
