Score:
Scoring Notes: generally a +5 is the highest I will give a component. A -5 is the lowest. If it goes beyond that, then you know I am quite serious

Cast:
+5 for Jemima Rooper. She’s engaging as the heroine Amanda Price.
+5 for Alex Kingston. This actress can do no wrong.
+5 for Hugh Bonneville. It was hilarious watching him play Jane Austen’s former love interest in Miss Austen Regrets and then turn around and watch him as Mr. Bennett.

Production (Writing/Directing/Soundtrack, etc…):
+10 for an original plot idea. Ok, so it comes across as a bit Mary Sue-Fan Fictionish but that’s really the point; I think. Don’t we all want the opportunity to live in our favorite books?
+5 for some funny ideas and decent writing.
+5 for decent direction

Other:
+2 for family friendliness. It is appropriately TV-14.
-1 for watching again. This is the second time I’ve watched it and I don’t plan to watch it again in the future. I know people who love the movie, but as an HSP I cringe when watching movies where the main character is constantly in embarrassing situations. While there are some slapstick movies I like and enjoy; this just isn’t one of them.

Total Score: 36
