Title: No Sleep ‘Til Christmas
Spoilers in Post: No
Release Type: Streaming/Television
Plot (from IMDB): A bartender and a businesswoman find they only have one thing in common; insomnia.
Scoring Notes:generally a +5 is the highest I will give a component. A -5 is the lowest. If it goes beyond that, then you know I am quite serious
+5 for Odette Annable
+5 for Dave Annable
+10 because yes, they are married in real life.
+5 for Alphonso McAuley (Never heard of him before; he was a side character but really owned his role)
+3 for Kevin Hanchard (barely in the movie, but its Art. He’ll always get points).
Production (Writing/Directing/Soundtrack, etc):
+5 for Writing and the over all story
+5 for the Directing
+10 for an original plot idea of getting the hero and heroine together
-5 for the plot point of having her engaged when she meets her true love.
-1 for family friendliness. The movie is very *visually* clean; but there are some jokes and moments that some parents would find objectionable for their younger children. It is rated TV-14 which is fair for the movie.
+5 because I’d rewatch.
+4 for diversity. The true love hero and heroine are white; but the fiance is black. The best friend of the hero is black. Unlike typical Hallmark movies; these characters actually have some depth to them. They aren’t shrill side notes.
+3 for the quote:
“I’m a wreck”
“Well we know the cure for that.”
+10 for for the quote:
Overall Score: 64
